A very Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Raising good humans is hard! A huge bow to all of you who are thanklessly on the front lines of the most important job of your life. Go get ’em, Warriors!
It’s a rainy Sunday here in the Pacific Northwest. May just hasn’t quite gotten its mojo going yet, so we have been braving the showers – running outside at the first hint of sunbreaks to get the garden planted. The herbs are definitely perking up, and we have a couple of blossoms on the tomatoes. C’mon Summer!!
We’re just back from a golf tournament in Pendleton, Oregon with a quick detour through Walla Walla, Washington on the way back. I’ll share more on our Road Trip! later this week.
When we got home, we found the refrigerator had officially conked out. Blehk. It had been acting up for a while, so it wasn’t a huge surprise. Appliance shopping it is!
Sears had a good selection, and after much deliberation, we settled on a unit that will fit in our space and match the decor. It is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Yeah! No more frozen salad!
By the way, it is amazing how much food can fit in a refrigerator – even when ‘there’s nothing to eat.’ Just the condiments alone are staggering! Note to self … eat ALL the food before going shopping again.
In January, I signed up to run a half marathon with friends at Disneyland in November. I have never run anything like that distance in my life, so I’m quite intimidated.
Being wholly unfit for running, I started training right away. I got a little overzealous and injured a calf muscle. Who knew what an awful injury that can be?! It took FOREVER to heal! I’m just now able to start training again.
I’m looking forward to making some real progress now. I’m staying motivated by imagining how great it will feel when I have accomplished this great feat! Maybe I’ll even get the bug and try a marathon next!
Seoul – Tokyo – Frankfurt – London – Idaho – Pendleton – Walla Walla
So much travel, so happy to be home! Thanks for your patience while I was on a brief blogging hiatus seeing the world. Can’t wait to get you caught up!
